Campaign Launched in Haryana

Addressing a huge rally organised jointly by CPI{M} and CPI in Hissar on February 23, Polit Bureau Member of CPI{M} and MP Sitaram Yechury said that people today need better future, better education and health, improvement in condition of agriculture and employment for youth. He lamented that Haryana today has become a model of loot by the corporates and repression of workers and toiling people. He said that though India is a country of young people, only 12 % of them reach college today. He also said that natural resources of our country are being ruthlessly looted and it is a sad fact that 51 persons of our country today own one-third of India's GDP while 80 crore people live on less than Rs.20 per day. Com. Yechury said there used to be three Lals in Haryana, but today the toiling masses need to strengthen the real 'lal'- the red flag.

Yechury said there is much hue and cry over corruption today, but the fight of left parties against corruption and their honesty needs no certificate. There have been 8 chief ministers of left parties and not even a single has any charge of corruption. Today also, Manik Sarkar, the Chief Minister of Tripura, is the poorest chief minister as per the records of the Election Commission of India.

Other leaders of CPI{M} and CPI also addressed the rally. State Secretary of CPI{M}, Inderjit Singh declared that CPI{M} and CPI will be contesting 5 parliamentary seats in Haryana: Phool Singh Sheokhand from Hissar, Ram Kumar Bahbalpuria from Sirsa, Master Sher Singh from Bhiwani, Mam Chand Saini from Karnal and Arun Kumar Advocate from Ambala.
