Left Front Parliamentary Party in West Bengal demanded on January 6 adequate Minimum Support Price for paddy to protect the farmers from making losses due to distress sale of their produce. Left Front Parliamentary Party delegation led by Anisur Rahaman met the state's Minister of Agriculture Malay Ghatak and apart from adequate MSP demanded that state government purchase the produce directly from the farmers through Self Help Groups and co-operative bodies.
