Alappuzha, the town which witnessed legendary struggles and political upsurges -- is once again thrilled and excited with the presence of veteran Communist leader K R Gauri Amma in LDF's stage. For Gauri Amma it is a home coming after long two decades.
Veteran communist leader KR Gauri Amma appeared on a LDF stage after about two decades at Alappuzha where she attended the election convention of the CPI(M) candidate CB Chandrababu. Thousands of people gathered to welcome the veteran leader at the venue.
Gauri Amma and her organization Janadhipathya Samrakshana Samithi (JSS) has decided to cooperate with the LDF in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Kerala. Senior leaders in Kerala like VS Achuthanandan and P K Chandranandan were also present in the stage to welcome Gauri Amma.
Candidate CB Chandrababu, District secretary Saji Cherian, and R Nasar received Gauri Amma with red shawls. Addressing an emotionally charged crowd, Gauri Amma said that this month marked the 20th year of her exit from the Communist party. "I had faced many crises. My home coming is meant to help the people to finish off the misrule of congress. People do not want this kind of rule which makes the life of common people miserable. In Kerala traditional industries like Coir has been destroyed by the UDF government. I and my small party will work with communist parties to ensure a peaceful life to every Keralite."
