Congress Made the Poor Struggle Even Harder for Basic Needs: Hannan Mollah

Mar 28, 2014

Hannan Mollah, central committee member of the CPI(M) participated in three election campaign meetings in the Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency, where comrade Ramkumar, CPI(M) candidate is contesting. Inderjit Singh, secretary of the state CPI(M) was also present in these meetings held today in Bappan, Mangeana and Bharu Khera.

Hannan Mollah said that the Congress party has taken the country on a path for the last ten years where only ten percent of the rich people have become richer at the cost of the rest of the ninety percent. The poor were made to struggle even harder for the minimum and necessary needs of their lives.

This situtation can only be changed by bringing about a major change by bringing about an alternative policy regime that the Left has been struggling for. The upcoming elections therefore is an opportunity for the toiling people to reject the Congress and to elect a secular and democratic alternative.

Com. Inderjit Singh reiterated the commitment of the to increase the number of days under the NREGA, free and equal education, health for all, effective measures to curb price rise through distribution of all essential commodities under an universal public distribution system and implementation of Swaminathan committee's recommendations for farmers.
