CPI(M) Haryana to Focus on Issues of Peoples' Livelihoods in Election Campaign

Mar 14, 2014

CPI(M) Haryana will focus its election campaign on the livelihood issues of the people for which the party has been fighting tirelessly round the year. Stating this CPI(M) Central secretariat member Nilotpal Basu emphasized that toiling people had very high stakes in the outcome of the forthcoming parliament elections. He said that the game of defections is at its worst and there is hardly anything to choose between the Congress and the BJP.

CPI(M) state secretary Inderjit Singh said that CPI(M) and the CPI are the only parties in Haryana who uphold principled politics; never indulged in opportunist politics and never played identity politics based on caste or religious sentiments. We have struggled to forge unity of workers and peasants and defended the rights of marginalized and weaker sections of the people when attacked by dominant vested interests.

The party also has decided to observe 23 March Shahid Diwas as a day against imperialism and communalism against which the struggle of Bhagat Singh and his compatriots continue to inspire us.

CPI(M) Haryana also decided to take to household level campaign for seeking support for an alternative based on pro-people policies. Dates for filing nominations for the three constituencies - Sirsa, Hisar and Bhiwani- Mohindergarh - that the party is fighting have been fixed for 19, 20 and 21st of March respectively. Another rally of the Left parties is scheduled to be held at Karnal on 16 March. It will be addressed by CPI(M) leader Hannan Mollah and CPI leader Amarjeet Kaur.
