CPI(M) today announced its candidates for 15 seats in Kerala. Five independent candidates are also included in the list. CPI announced the list of four candidates in Thiruvananthapuram, Mavelikkara. Thrissur, and Wayanad. The Left Democratic front allotted Kottayam to Janata Dal(secular). There are total 20 constituencies in Kerala.
CPI(M) Politburo member M A Baby will contest in Kollam and Central Committee members P Karunakaran, P K Sreemathi, and A Vijayaraghavan will contest in Kasaragode, Kannur and Kozhikode respectively. Sitting MPs P K Biju (Alathur), M B Rajesh (Palakkad) and A Sampath(Attingal) will contest in their respective constituencies.
State committee member of the CPI(M) and leader of womens' movement, P K Sainaba will contest in Malappuram and state Committee member and Alappuzha district committee secretary C B Chandrababu will contest in Alappuzaha. Youth leader A N Shamseer will contest from Vadakara.
The names of CPI (M) supported independent candidates are: V Abdul Rahman (Ponnani), Innocent (Chalakkudi), Christy Fernandes (Eranakulam), Peelippose Thomas (Pathanamthitta), Joyce George (Idukki).
JDS Candidate for Kottayam will be announced later.
