Defeat the Divisive Forces of TDP-BJP and the Congress: Sitaram Yechury

May 03, 2014

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury called upon the people of Seemandhra to defeat the Congress, TDP and the BJP who are all responsible for dividing the state. He participated in road shows in the Gajuvaka assembly constituency of Vishakapatnam district campaigning for the CPI(M) candidate and state secretariat member Ch Narasingha Rao.

Yechury reminded the people that CPI(M) always stood by the people and fought for their interests. CPI(M) fought consistently to safeguard the Vizag Steel Plant. It had organized struggles against the ploy to levy user charges by the municipalities undermining democratically elected urban local bodies. Interests of the people remain the foremost concern of the CPI(M), said Yechury.

He said that the TDP-BJP combine are in favour of privatising public sector companies and cited how during the previous NDA regime the Hindustan Zinc Ltd was handed over to private players. He reminded the people about their ploy to privatize Hindustan Shipyard, the BHPV etc. and how they were forced to retreat due to militant worker struggles waged by the Left.

He appelaed to the people to support the CPI(M) candidate Narasingha Rao who is a veteran trade union leader involved in most of these struggles.
