Left Stands for Realising ‘One Man, One Value’: Brinda Karat

May 08, 2014

In two separate meetings, organised in support of the Left Front candidate, Dr. Debesh Das, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat remarked that both the BJP and the Congress are mere puppets of corporates. All their policies are geared to the advantage of corporate houses.  She gave the call for an alternative government based on alternative policies at the centre, which would work for the people and be free of corporate control.  She appealed to the people to strengthen the Left.

Brinda Karat commented that the Left does not divide people on the basis of caste, creed and religion for electoral gains. It believes in the social security and development of all.  Reminding Ambedkar’s words, Karat said that a democracy can truly be successful only when every individual stands equal on the principle of ‘one man, one vote’ on economic grounds as well.  Ambedkar’s slogan of ‘one man, one value’ in social and political life has to be turned into a reality.
Brinda Karat gave the call to build peoples’ resistance against public loot by the TMC. She said that in the 34 years of Left’s rule, incidents such as the Saradha, TET and SSC scams were never seen. But the present Mamata government has produced abundant scams in its 3 years of rule. Moreover, its unleashing state sponsored violence on those who seek justice.
The Left Front candidate of Bongaon PC, Dr. Debesh Das addressing the gathering said the present Mamata government has failed to generate any employment and industries have been moving out of the state. He said Modi is the face of communal riots and Mamata has become the face of rising crimes against women.
