People Determined to Elect Nandini Mukherjee

May 10, 2014

For many years the people of South Kolkata Lok Sabha constituency elected Mamata Banerje as their representative to the Indian Parliament. But this time they are determined to elect Nandini Mukherjee of the Left Front as their representative. She has been a teacher at Jadavpur University and has stood by the struggles of the oppressed and marginalized women of this area for about 22 years.

In this constituency, it is a direct struggle between the forces of authoritarianism and democracy. Ardent criminals have been released from prison to stop people from voting for the Left. But the Left activists are determined to visit and interact with each and every household in the constituency and appeal to them not to yield to such tactics and to vote for the Left.

The mass support that Left rallies have witnessed is only an indicator of the successful election campaign by the Left Front. People from all walks of life attended our rallies and have narrated the troubles they face at the hands of TMC lumpens. The transport workers turned up in large numbers to the rally a few days back. The politics of the Left campaign has drawn the workers and their families to come in support of the Left in this election.
