The CPI(M) released a pamphlet in support of their candidate from Shimla Lok Sabha constituency, Jagat Ram. With the distribution of this pamphlet, the Party’s task is to reach out to the maximum number of voters with its understanding of the local issues of Shimla and the consequent plan of action.
The Party in Shimla has constantly been struggling for the rights of the working class, peasants, middle class etc.. It is to be noted that the Party won the seats of Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Shimla, in a direct elections to these seats defeating both the Congress and BJP. This election poses a challenge before the people of Shimla to defeat the policies of both the Congress and BJP. It is necessary to overcome this challenge in order to boost the struggle for alternative policies, which the CPI(M) represents.
Besides Jagat Ram, CPI(M) State Secretary Rakesh Singha, Mayor of Shimla, Sanjay Chauhan, Deputy Mayor of Shimla Tikender Singh Panwar, CPI(M) State Committee Member Com. Kuldeep Singh and other activists were also present at the press conference in which the election pamphlet was released.
