Archana Biswas is the Left Front supported CPI(M) candidate for Ranaghat. Archana, now in her early forties, teaches in a girls’ school. She graduated from SriKrishna College, Bagula in Nadia district and also has a diploma in homeopathy. Born in a scheduled caste family, Archana has struggled hard to make her mark in the mainstream. She has been actively associated with All Bengal Teachers’ Association (ABTA) and All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA). Having joined the CPI(M) in 2011, she was nominated by the Party and the Left Front to contest the Ranaghat North-East assembly constituency that year. Archana has deep rooted cultural affinities, with a passion for classical music. She performs as a vocalist and has received a Sangeet Bisharad degree.
