Forty-two year old Abdul Muneer is the CPI(M) candidate from Lakshadweep constituency. He is a well-known social worker and also the member of the Local Co-ordination Committee of CPI(M) in Lakshadweep. Muneer is a graduate in Zoology from Govt. Victoria College, Palakkad, Kerala and had completed MBBS and PG Diploma in Diabetology from Kottayam Medical College. He served as a physician at National Thalassemia Centre Regional Hospital, Maldives. Dr. Muneer is also the founder of the first public school in Lakshadweep - the Peace Public School.
