45 year old Jagdish Chandra Basu is the CPI(M) candidate from Khagaria Lok Sabha constituency. Basu lives in Alauli area of Khagaria and is a graduate. From 2001-2006 he was president of his Gram Panchayat. He has successfully led many land struggles in his area and has always taken up issues of the common public and fought for them. He has been at the forefront of struggles in his area whether it’s about issues related to agro-processing industries, finding a permanent solution to flood related problems or establishing a technical college in the area. He has always led these struggles with much vigour and enthusiasm.
