Jyotin Soren started his political life in the 1970s as a student leader in the S.P College, Dumka. After he joined youth movement, he served as the vice-president of DYFI in united Bihar. He was elected from Maheshpur constituency to the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1995. A popular mass leader, he has fought for the rights of the toiling masses ever since he joined politics.
