Kushal Bharadwaj is the CPI(M) candidate from Jogindernagar-Mandi Lok Sabha constituency. A fearless, bold, militant and hardworking leader with a charming personality and powerful oratory skills, Kushal has been constantly struggling for the rights of students, youth, agricultural workers etc. He started his political journey at the age of 15 as a student activist and was part of the State Committee and the Central Executive Committee of SFI. He also provided leadership to students as Secretary of Himachal Pradhesh University Students’ Union. After completion of his education, he became a leader in DYFI and led struggles against unemployment, price rise, corruption etc. Due to extraordinary leadership skills, he was elected the National Vice-President of SFI in the All India Convention held in Kolkata. As the National Vice-President of SFI he was made in-charge of Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Punjab. He also waged successful struggles to make daily wage workers permanent in PWD and IPH. He enthusiastically participated in the issues relating to daily wage labourers, anganwadi workers, mid-day meals, water tankers, JBT candidates, primary educators, street cart vendors, workers of herbal gardens, manual scavengers, construction workers, project workers, PTA teachers, contractual labour, panchayat assistants and watchmen. He also provided full support and cooperation to government employees and those working in the insurance, bank, postal and telecom sectors. During his student days, in the 90s, he was also part of struggles led by electricity board employees and apple-growers and sustained injuries as a result of lathi-charge by the police. Now a member of the Himachal Pradesh Kisan Sabha, Kushal Bharadwaj has been constantly raising his voice for farmers’ rights. He’s been taking up issues regarding problems created by wild and stray animals, constant rise in prices of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides and ration cuts in depots. Kushal Bharadwaj has donated blood 27 times till date. A member of the CPI(M) State Committee, Kushal Bharadwaj is a multi-talented, militant and capable candidate.
