Comrade Pondi, aged 55 years, the CPI (M) candidate for Dindigul Parliamentary constituency, is the secretary of the Dindigul district committee of the CPI(M) and a member of the Party State Committee. He has studied up to PUC. He joined the Party in 1978 and has been a full time worker of the Party for 36 years now. He has participated in struggles demanding jobs and unemployment compensation, land struggles in Neykarappatti in Palani, and many other successful struggles. He has been imprisoned for participation in people’s struggles for a total of 15 days. Pondi is married to Maheswari. He has a son named Sukhdev and a daughter named Sindhuja.
