Rinku Naskar, a youthful, energetic and fighting woman and local councilor is the Left Front nominated CPI(M) candidate for the 20- Mathurapur (SC) Parliamentary constituency. She is 29 years of age. She joined CPI(M) in 2011. She is a leading youth and women’s right activist of her locality. Elected as a councilor of Ward 102 of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, she is very successfully handling her duties. She has always stood by the marginalized and oppressed people, consistently fighting for their rights and protecting their interests. Tremendously energetic, she is always within the reach of people. She is a very simple personality and has the rare ability of mingling with and understanding the common people. These capabilities have endeared her and made her very popular beyond her own age group. Her upbringing was modest. Coming from a lower middle class family she had to face many an odds to continue her education. It was by her sheer grit and hard work that she transcended boundaries of her school in Canning and got admitted to Presidency College from where she did her graduation in Bengali (Honours). Later she joined Jadavpur University to complete her PG Diploma in Mass Communication. She also obtained a Masters Degree from Rabindra Bharati University.
