The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statements:
Israeli Decision Condemned
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) denounces the decision of Israel's Security Cabinet, in principle, to expel President Yasser Arafat from the Palestinian territories. This decision has been taken after the return of Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, from India.
The Vajpayee government, which went overboard in trying to please the Israeli Prime Minister, should immediately come out condemning this decision. If any step is taken to forcibly remove Yasser Arafat, then India should send back the Israeli Ambassador in India.
