The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
Take Strong Action Against Bajrang Dal
The involvement of the Bajrang Dal, an organisation affiliated to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the RSS, in violent and terroristic activities is becoming increasingly evident.
In Kanpur, two Bajrang Dal activists were killed recently when making bombs. Evidence was found that they were targeting certain places for attack. Two years ago in April 2006, in Nanded, a similar explosion killed two persons belonging to the Bajrang Dal while making bombs. It is surprising that the CBI, which was entrusted with the case, has diluted the charges against the accused who were investigated for serious crimes by the Maharashtra police.
In the ongoing violence against the Christian community in Orissa, the Bajrang Dal is involved.
In the light of these events, the Central government should take cognizance of the terroristic nature of the activities of the Bajrang Dal and take strong action.
