Interrogate Mamata in Saradha

Left parties hit the streets of West Bengal on Saturday demanding the immediate interrogation of the Chief Minister in the Sharada scam and arrest of all culprits. After the arrest of state transport minister Madan Mitra on Friday, the complicity of the ruling party and government in this huge financial scam has become more evident. The entire state is bursting with anger against these fraudsters.

Thousands of people marched in Kolkata in the afternoon in a spontaneous rally. The rally started from Lenin statue in Esplanade and marched up to Ramlila Park in central Kolkata. Suryakanta Misra, Madan Ghosh, Manjukumar Majumder and other Left leaders led the rally. Slogans were raised demanding interrogation of the Chief Minister and top TMC leaders to unearth the money that was looted. The rally warned the Chief Minister not to play with fire by inciting violence. The militant mood of the rally indicated that more protests would be followed.

Addressing a public meeting after the conclusion of rally, Suryakanta Misra reiterated the demand for summoning the Chief Minister who seemed to be the kingpin of the entire fraud. Misra called for the arrest of the culprits confiscation of their properties to pay back the depositors. Misra also urged for expanding the CBI probe to cover the other other chit funds. He also demanded the Shyamal Sen commission report to be made public.

Demonstrations and rallies were also organized in the districts.
