The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
Attack on soldiers condemned
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the extremist attack on the Sunjuwan cantonment near Jammu, which has led to the killing of l2 soldiers and 7 being injured. The Polit Bureau conveys its condolences to the families of those who died in the attack.
In the light of such repeated attacks, steps were taken to strengthen security in military installations. The manner in which the two-man suicide squad could penetrate the fortified and guarded base has raised a number of questions.
The Central government and the defence authorities need to immediately review the measures taken so far to ward off such attacks.
