The CPI(M) Polit Bureau has been authorized by the Central Committee to prepare a revised draft of the review of the political-tactical line taking into account the discussions in the Central Committee. This proposal made by the Polit Bureau was unanimously adopted by the CC without anybody voting against it, said CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat. Com. Karat was addressing a crowded press conference at the AKG Bhavan in New Delhi today at the conclusion of the four-day meeting of the Central Committee, which had the review of the political-tactical line pursued by the Party in the past 25 years as one of its main agendas.

Central Committee Communiqué

The Central Committee called upon the entire Party to conduct a campaign on the following issues: (i) against FDI in railways, insurance and defence production; (ii) against disinvestment in public sector shares; and (iii) against dilution of labour laws.....The party will take up a political and ideological campaign against the offensive of the Hindutva forces and all forms of communalism and the efforts to communalise the education system and text books.

Central Committee Communique

Instead of using agencies such as the CBI to investigate economic crimes and cases of corruption, the ruling party is unscrupulously utilizing the CBI for its narrow political purposes. The brazen manner in which the CBI investigations have been used to muster support for the cut motion is bringing the agency into disrepute. The ruling party cannot be allowed to bring the CBI into disrepute.
